One World Trade Center Beacon Enclosure

Kammetal was selected by DCM Erectors to engineer and fabricate the 1 World Trade Center Beacon which now sits atop the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Kammetal supplied extensive engineering and project management services to fabricate and install 7 tons of fabricated stainless steel and glass to form the beacon enclosure. The enclosure consisted of 48 separate stainless steel panels that are bolted onto a structural stainless steel frame via custom clips and brackets uniquely designed for the project.

Utilizing the latest in laser-scanning technology and professional 3D CAD software, Kammetal developed an accurate 3D model of the structural frame enabling us to overcome any as-built inconsistencies to create fast and accurate solutions for fabrication and installation.

All components were fabricated in our 31,500 SQ FT facility and installed onto the structural frame by Kammetal crew at the DCM facility in NJ. Throughout the project we were able to develop successful solutions in order to deliv-er the complete project in a timely manner with the upmost attention to detail.
